Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 August 2025

Mehfil (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at mehfilhub.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you sign up to our waitlist, how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

We take your privacy seriously. We will never sell your data to anyone.

1. Who we are

Mehfil is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are a pre-launch platform connecting people with South Asian cultural events in the UK.

Contact us at: admin@mehfilhub.com

2. What we collect

When you join our waitlist we collect:

  • Email address — required to contact you when we launch.

We do not collect any other personal data, and we do not use cookies or any tracking technologies on this page.

3. Why we collect it and our lawful basis

We collect your email address to send you updates about Mehfil’s launch, upcoming events, and related news. Our lawful basis is consent — by submitting your email you are consenting to receive these communications.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by emailing us at admin@mehfilhub.com. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we carried out before you withdrew it.

4. How long we keep your data

We will keep your email address on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If Mehfil does not launch, we will delete all waitlist data within 12 months of the date this policy was last updated.

5. Who we share your data with

We use third-party service providers for website hosting, database storage, and email delivery. These providers act as data processors — they only handle your data on our behalf and under our instructions. We do not sell your data to any third party.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred internationally we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, as required by UK GDPR.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your data.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Object — object to our processing.
  • Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Lodge a complaint — with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe we have mishandled your data.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at admin@mehfilhub.com. We will respond within one month.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
